What Is a Chamber of Commerce?
A chamber of commerce is a non-profit organization - not run by the government - whose members represent a diverse mix of businesses that come together to promote local economic growth and development.
Chambers may operate at the national, international, regional, or local level, but their mission remains the same: to advance business and strengthen the community.
The JCACC represents a partnership of more than 275 businesses and individuals who work together to advance Geary County’s civic, industrial, commercial, agricultural, and general interests.
It is also comprised of three divisions:
- Member Relations Division (this is commonly referred to as the Chamber of Commerce)
- Military Affairs Council (MAC): Provides a wide array of resources for the soldiers of Fort Riley and their families
- Economic Development Commission (EDC): Actively fosters community growth by attracting new businesses and supporting existing ones while also creating quality jobs for residents, streamlining business development, and initiating infrastructure improvements to improve the quality of life in our area.
What Does a Chamber of Commerce Do?
A chamber of commerce like the JCACC helps businesses connect with each other, supports and advocates for their shared economic interest, and grow their operations in a number of ways that includes:
- Host networking events for members to share ideas, inspire each other, and connect The JCACC hosts a number of events all throughout the year, from members-only to community and fundraising
- Provide members with a platform to promote their business
- Offer ongoing training and advice

Does the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce Support the Soldiers of Fort Riley?
Absolutely. The JCACC’s Military Affairs Division actively works to develop and foster a welcoming environment for veterans, Soldiers, and their families.
This includes providing opportunities and support to help them find outstanding career training and employment after their military service, with the goal of encouraging them to make Junction City–Geary County their home.
The Military Affairs Council also hosts events and fundraisers throughout the year, including:
- MAC Breakfast: Held monthly on the fourth Thursday from January to October for the community and our military leaders. A topic of mutual interest is also presented.
- MAC Barn Quilt Raffle: Supports scholarships for military dependent JCHS graduating seniors and non-profits that support the military.
