Chamber EDC to Prospect in China

1 Oct 2018

The Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce through their economic development efforts will seek new prospects in China.

Junction City will be one of a handful of U.S. cities profiled in that country. Chamber of Commerce CEO Mickey Fornaro-Dean said the local Economic Development Commission has been advertising in the prominent “Site Selection” magazine for a year and a half. “They signed an exclusive contract with the largest media group in China and we have an opportunity to have our investment profile translated, and be put in front of the four largest media outlets as well as their major social media outlet which is called “We Chat.” So we’re going to see if we can get some interest that way as well.”

That effort will try to attract some businesses from China to this community. Fornaro-Dean stated, “That would be a good possibility, or if there are vendors for that. There’s an awful lot of foreign direct investment that’s looking at this country right now. I think where are located with our transportation we need to get in every avenue that we can.”

The Chamber Board of Directors gave their approval to the effort on Thursday.
