Property Tax Exemption
Geary County and Junction City offer new and expanding industries property tax exemption for up to 10 years on a declining scale. The property tax abatement is applicable to any portion of the appraised value of all buildings, or added improvements, together with land on which buildings are located, and all associated tangible personal property used exclusively by the business for the purpose of manufacturing articles of commerce; conducting research and development; storing goods or commodities which are sold or traded in interstate commerce.
Industrial Revenue Bonds
Geary County local governments have been aggressive in issuing the bonds to qualified manufacturers and have pursued a policy of exempting companies from ad valorem (property) taxes for 10 years. The bonds provide lower interest rate financing and often longer term financing than conventional sources of funds. The bonds can be utilized for 100% financing for land, building and fixed equipment. The cost of building materials and equipment permanently installed is sales tax exempt.
NRP Tax Rebate Program
The City of Junction City offers new and expanding businesses that locate in pre-approved areas of Junction City a tax rebate up to 10 years. The property tax rebate is applicable to any portion of the appraised value of added improvements
