Another
hi-tech firm has chosen to locate in Junction City.
At a press conference held at the Geary County Convention
Center, Junction City –Geary County EDC Director
Josh McKim introduced Paul Kralovec, CEO of Unplugged
Cities, a full-service Internet technology firm
with headquarters in Minneapolis, MN. The Unplugged
Cities facility in Junction City is located on North

expected to generate up to 31 new jobs for the community.
“This
announcement represents a great new partnership
with a cutting-edge company,” said Rod Barnes,
City Manager. “Unplugged Cities is bringing
new jobs to Junction City and joins the community
of technology based firms that have chosen our community
as the best location for their enterprises. This
is an exciting addition to Junction City. And we
are very pleased to continue the positive working
relationship we have with the Kansas Department
of Commerce in our economic development efforts.”
Unplugged
Cities chose Junction City for the skilled workforce
available in the community. “We were looking
for a location where we could capitalize on the
local resources,” said Paul Kralovec. “Junction
City has a workforce with specialized training necessary
to launch a help desk operation. It was a significant
advantage to have trained workers available to help
us start our operation.”
The
addition of Unplugged Cities to Junction City adds
to a vibrant technology community that is growing
in our community, according to Josh McKim. “Junction
City has a lot to offer. We have a willing and skilled
workforce thanks to our relationship with Fort Riley,
along with existing and new residents in our region.
We have the educational and training resources to
add to our skilled workforce. And we have a welcoming
community that offers a quality of life that meets
and exceeds the expectations of relocating corporations.“
